The bills won’t stop coming, there will never be more hours in the day, and your career and family responsibilities will always be demanding. Doesn’t it feel like there is always something to stress about? Then your hair seems to be thinning out and you don’t know why and you have these massive pimples coming out and you are pass your teen years. Another thing to stress over – your appearance. Sometimes, a significant stress of some sort may spark a change in your body’s routine physiological functions. In other words, your emotions can affect your entire body. That being said, it is important we learn to manage stress.
There are common things that we neglect in our daily stressful lives, we are so busy we might not be eating properly; we may lose weight or this is a popular one I’m guilty of, not sleeping well. All of these lifestyle habits from emotional stress cause physiological stress and an imbalance in your system. That imbalance results in lack of nourishment for your hair and skin. Our body needs essential things to regenerate, so this is why some have hair breakage, shedding and simply do not know why.
Like termites, stress works insidiously to eat away at your body, mind and emotions. The results can become all too obvious, by showing up on your skin. Alter the situation
If you can’t avoid a stressful situation, try to alter it. Figure out what you can do to change things so the problem doesn’t present itself in the future. Often, this involves changing the way you communicate and operate in your daily life.
Adapt to the stressor
If you can’t change the stressor, change yourself. You can adapt to stressful situations and regain your sense of control by changing your expectations and attitude. This is where you think positive, appreciating the good and not focusing on the negative
Accept the things you can’t change
Some sources of stress are unavoidable. You can’t prevent or change stressors such as the death of a loved one, a serious illness, or a national recession. In such cases, the best way to cope with stress is to accept things as they are. Acceptance may be difficult, but in the long run, it’s easier than railing against a situation you can’t change.
